eBook’s are commonly found throughout schools and on the internet every day. Some schools even submit eBook versions of textbooks to students who live outside of the state or in some cases outside of the country when distance learning is involved. You can enhance education in the classroom by providing interactive tools within eBook’s that traditionally would be harder to navigate otherwise without having several tabs open on your browser. Technology plays a major part in education today because teachers have found a proven fact that technology not only helps students interact visually with class materials and lessons but also providing education on technology itself which is a standard in the business world today.
Interactive eBook’s are fun because they allow the student to learn in a more proactive way that will provide many other benefits other than just reading a book and jotting down notes. We see in classrooms more and more today how interactivity can help students and faculty alike. You can embed maps, videos, photos, audio and sometimes flash files that can help assist students in their learning. Most of these codes are offered free and are fairly easy to implement into your eBook’s and students love them because they allow the reader to feel connected and help the student to hold particular interest in the story as well as having a hands on experience with the lesson.
A great example of the use of these tools would be to write a story about the Native American people and embed maps and photos within the eBook to demonstrate to the student where the Native Americans resided or had burial grounds as well as demonstrating through photos what their culture was like and what they stood for as people. You could also add videos on the story in some parts of the book to help provide the reader with insight into parts of the story that could help the reader to better understand the moral of the story or to find clarity in the intent of the story’s plot. The information doesn-t stop now.
